As a first post for the year of 2016, a wish for this new year: better principles at work.
Following 2015 recent corporate scandals, such as the Volkswagen scandal, Tesco wrongdoing, global banks involved in fraudulent actions… it is clear the need for managers and leaders to behave more ethically in the world and to foster ethical decision-making in their workforce.
I feel that better principles surrounded by spirituality at work is key for ethical decisions. Spirituality in the workplace is when you connect work and a spiritual journey, it is an opportunity to grow personally and contribute meaningfully to society. It involves integrity, caring, compassion, and living values you believe inside the office. It is a personal journey watered by principles. It can be lived and put into practice without even using the word “spirituality”.
Spiritual practice outside and at work can guarantee a calmer person (emotionally stable), sparkle creativity, make you more in tune with associates or collaborators, and compassion will take care of the rest.
It may be a good idea to include personal development –recognize unexpected mentors- in the Garlicy To Do’s list this year.
